With the MA VPU (Video Processing Unit) MA Lighting has developed a series of powerful solutions for the control, live access and modification of videos, images and 3D objects.

All videos, images and 3D objects can be scaled, positioned, tiled, coloured and modified directly from any grandMA2. All these functions are structured so simply that operating the MA VPU is no more complicated than operating another fixture. The MA VPU only needs to be integrated into the network session.
No additional parameters are required to control the MA VPU. Thanks to the MA philosophy, the operation is extremely intuitive. Users who are already familiar with grandMA2 will have no problems with the MA VPU. In addition, the free MA VPU software includes a Teaser Mode that allows two layers with limited resolution to be played back from a Windows computer.
Thanks to the performance of the MA VPU's new HAP codec all videos can now be displayed in larger than Full-HD.
Furthermore, the internal output synchronization of the MA-Net2 guarantees the highest possible frame and DMX synchronicity. Powerful functions such as vertical and horizontal soft edge blending or keystone correction are also included in the scope of functions. Videos can be scaled to any desired size. In addition, the MA VPU has a convincing 3D keystoning function, which allows content to be placed on any 3D object, regardless of its shape or size. In addition, frame interpolation and smooth speed control can be used to adjust the playback speed. In addition, the MA VPU offers a number of functions, features and effects such as frame blending, colour boost, dynamic colour key, contrast, brightness, saturation as well as blur, sepia, greyscale, wave, invert and much more. The application is comfortable and self-explanatory. So you can also easily create and control combinations of videos and images.

The MA VPU supports JPEG and Windows bitmap images like *.bmp and *.gif as well as *.png with alpha channel. Up to 32 3D video layers are possible. Via grandMA2 the MA VPU can also be programmed in blind and preview mode.
This means that the MA VPU follows the console in blind mode, which makes programming much easier. The MA VPU also allows a single-layer transition, where the user no longer has to select the display layers himself. He can program everything on one layer, and the times can also be programmed individually.
All three MA VPU versions, MA VPU plus MK2, MA VPU basic MK2 and MA VPU light are optimized for transport and daily tour use. Each MA VPU also offers 17GB pre-installed content.
