BMFL - Bright Multi-Functional Luminaire In comparison to the Spot version, the BMFL Blade has a high-quality and precisely working aperture slider system, which also shines with its high speed. This not only allows absolutely detailed illumination. Thanks to the very fast working and rotatable aperture slider unit, additional beamwork effects can be created, which are not possible with a spot moving light. Each of the four aperture sliders can be adjusted and aligned separately and the whole unit can also be rotated freely in position. The high-quality autofocus optics provide a huge 11:1 zoom, which covers the range from 5° to 55° and does its job at a speed not yet realized in this class.

The lamp, which was developed in cooperation with OSRAM especially for the new BMFL series, is optimally matched to the devices and impresses with its technical features. The OSRAM LOK IT! HTI 1,700 W/PS lamp can be operated with an output of either 1,200, 1,500 or 1,700 watts. There is no need for any transition times when changing the power levels, which can be adjusted from a distance both on the device and via the light desk. In addition, the light source convinces with a stable CRI of more than 92 in all three power levels. The colour temperature is specified at 6,000 Kelvin. Thus the BMFL proves to be extremely flexible for different productions and locations.

The engineers at ROBE have invested a lot of time and know-how in the development of the dimmer unit. The result is an extremely homogeneous and at the same time linear dimming of 100 to 0 percent with absolutely constant colours and best values in projection quality, where at no time mechanical dimmer flags are visible in the projection.

But also with all other functions the BMFL Blade works at the highest level. A completely newly developed colour mixing system offers optimised speeds here too, in addition to homogeneous mixing of colours in the saturated range through to soft pastel shades. Two colour wheels are available for this purpose, which sensibly extend the colour mixing system with the most important correction filters and individual colours.

Despite the extensive aperture slider system, hardly any compromises have to be made at the projection level. The BMFL Blade also features two gobo wheels - one rotatable and one static -, an animation wheel for moving effects such as fire or water, two prisms for beam-split effects and a completely closing high-speed iris. Its extensive equipment is completed by a continuously operating frost filter system, which offers many possibilities from slight blurring to a wash effect.

The drive units have also been revised. The BMFL Blade achieves pan/tilt speeds that were previously not possible for a device of this class. The new EMS system ensures optimised motor management and effectively compensates for movements that can occur, for example, with suspended trusses.
